The Woman Who Used My Empty Garage Thought Silence Meant Permission Until the Whole Neighborhood Learned Why I Had Waited

Chapter 1: The Car Behind My Garage Door

“Move your truck, Jason, or I’ll have it towed.”

Michelle Clark said it loudly enough for the two HOA board members on the sidewalk to stop pretending they were studying the hydrangeas.

I stood beside my pickup with one hand on the driver’s door. Behind Michelle, inside my detached garage, her white electric sedan sat plugged into my wall outlet.

The charging cable crossed the concrete threshold in a bright black curve.

For a second, nobody spoke.

Then Michelle pushed her sunglasses higher on her nose and pointed toward my truck.

“You’re obstructing access.”

“To my garage.”
