The HOA President’s Wife Tried to Stop His Lawn Job—Then One Property Line Changed the Whole Dispute

Chapter 1: The Woman Who Ordered the Mower Off

“Stop right there.”

Jack Carter released the trigger on the edger.

The engine dropped from a hard mechanical whine to silence, leaving only the ticking of hot metal and the faint hiss of a sprinkler somewhere farther down the street.

A woman stood three yards in front of him with one hand raised.

Jack had seen her ten minutes earlier on the neighboring porch. She had watched him unload the mower, watched him make the first pass across George Hill’s front lawn, and watched him trim around the mailbox without once looking away.

Now she pointed at the narrow strip of grass beside the driveway.

“Don’t throw that onto my side.”

Jack looked down.
