The HOA Threatened His Lawn Crew Over Grass Clippings—Then He Finally Asked Who Had Given Her That Power

Chapter 1: The Mower Stopped Over Three Feet of Grass

David Miller killed the mower so fast that the engine gave one last hard cough before the whole front yard went quiet.

Benjamin Carter looked up from the edge of his driveway.

Pamela Roberts was standing three feet in front of the machine.

David still had both hands on the handlebar. His sunglasses hid his eyes, but Benjamin could see the tension in his jaw.

Pamela pointed at the narrow strip between the two lawns.

“You need to stop.”

For a moment, Benjamin assumed he had missed something. A broken sprinkler head. A rock thrown by the mower. Maybe David had crossed onto Pamela’s property without realizing it.

Then Pamela pointed at several loose blades of cut grass scattered across the edge of her driveway.
