She Asked Him Twelve Times to Stop Blocking Her Farm Road—Then the Yellow Clamp Changed Everything

Chapter 1: The Truck Was Across Her Gate Again

At 6:35, Melissa Hall rounded the last bend in her gravel lane and saw Gregory Walker’s truck stretched across her gate again.

The pickup sat almost sideways, nose toward the county road, with a flatbed equipment trailer angled behind it. Between the truck and trailer, there was no space wide enough for Melissa’s aging farm SUV to squeeze through without dropping a wheel into the ditch.

Her phone buzzed in the cup holder.

6:45 CALF EXAM.

She looked from the screen to the truck.

“Of course.”

Melissa stopped twenty feet short of the gate, set the brake, and got out.

The morning air smelled of wet hay and diesel. Somewhere behind the barn, cattle shifted against a metal feeder. Gregory was standing beside the trailer, tightening a chain around a compact excavator bucket.
