The HOA Painted Over His Property Line—Then Its Own Records Exposed Who Controlled the Fourteen Feet

Chapter 1: The Morning They Painted Over the Survey Pin

The roller passed over the survey pin before Samuel Hall understood what the man was doing.

One moment the small metal cap was visible between pale gravel and concrete, a dull circle no bigger than a quarter. The next, it disappeared beneath a stripe of wet beige paint.

“Stop.”

The worker froze with the roller halfway through another pass.

Samuel came down his driveway without bothering to close the front door behind him. He had been carrying a mug of coffee when he looked through the kitchen window and saw two men kneeling beside the decorative gravel strip that ran along the corner of his lot.

Now the mug sat somewhere inside, forgotten.

Sharon Nelson stood near the curb with a clipboard tucked against one hip.

“Samuel,” she said. “Good morning.”
