He Used My Farm Lane Like His Own Until One Quiet File Changed Everything

Chapter 1: The White Truck Was Back Before Sunrise

The white service truck was sitting exactly where the hay trailer needed to turn.

Timothy Campbell saw it before he reached the end of the lane, its boxy rear end angled across the gravel turnout like somebody had parked it there on purpose. The truck was old enough for rust to show around the wheel wells, but the refrigeration and HVAC equipment mounted behind the cab was expensive, organized, and unmistakably commercial.

Behind Timothy, diesel brakes hissed.

The hay-delivery driver had stopped his loaded tractor-trailer partly on the county road.

Timothy looked at the truck, then at the approaching daylight over his lower pasture.

“Give me a minute.”

The driver leaned out his window. “That yours?”

“No.”
