They Blocked Her Farm Road for “Community Safety”—Then She Found Who Actually Owned the Easement

Chapter 1: The Morning They Chained the Farm Road

The tow chain snapped tight around Samantha Moore’s livestock trailer just as Kathleen Miller reached the iron gate.

“Hold it.”

Her voice carried farther than she expected.

The tow operator stopped with one hand on the control lever. Samantha stood ten feet away in work boots and a faded sweatshirt, her face pale with anger. Behind the trailer, a feed truck idled on the county road, unable to turn through the narrowed entrance.

A bright new chain ran through Kathleen’s old iron gate.

She had owned that gate for thirty-one years.

Stephen Roberts stood beside it with a clipboard tucked beneath his arm.

“Kathleen,” he said, “this is association enforcement.”
