He Bought a Lakefront Lot Outside the HOA, Then Their Own Boundary Records Turned Against Them

Chapter 1: The Man Who Came to Stop the House

The gray SUV stopped in the gravel lane before Joshua Wright heard the saw shut down.

Richard Moore stepped out wearing a jacket too formal for a construction site and walked past the stacked lumber as though he had already been invited. He carried a leather portfolio under one arm and several sheets of paper in his other hand.

“Who’s running the job?”

The contractor lowered his nail gun.

Joshua came around the corner of the unfinished house. Behind him, wall studs framed squares of bright lake water where windows would eventually go.

“I am.”

Richard barely looked at him before turning back to the contractor.

“Construction stops today.”
