The violation envelope was waiting beside the buyer-feedback sheet.

Raymond Walker noticed the red HOA logo first, then the number visible through the window: $200. He stood at the kitchen counter with one hand still on the stack of mail while the late-afternoon light fell across the empty half of the room where a bookshelf had already been packed.

For a moment, he thought it had to be something old.

Temporary signage.

Two hundred dollars.

Raymond read the page twice, then looked through the front window toward the lawn.
