He Warned His Neighbor Not to Pour Concrete Across the Farm Line—Then the Survey Changed Everything

Chapter 1: The Concrete Was Already Moving

The concrete was already coming down the chute when Samuel Walker reached the lower field.

Gray slurry rolled into the wooden forms in a steady, heavy stream, swallowing gravel and reinforcing mesh beneath it. The mixer truck idled beside Justin Clark’s new machinery shed site, its drum turning with a low mechanical growl. Two laborers worked rakes through the wet concrete while another guided the chute.

Samuel stopped at the edge of the farm lane.

“Hold it.”

The concrete foreman looked up.

Samuel pointed toward the south side of the forms. “That corner is across my line.”

The foreman glanced toward Justin instead of answering.

Justin stood beside a stack of steel posts, boots muddy, jacket unzipped despite the cool morning. “It isn’t.”
