My Neighbor Dumped a Truckload on My Property—Then the HOA Learned Why I Never Moved the Survey Pin

Chapter 1: The Truck Was Already Raising Its Bed

The dump bed was already climbing when Samuel Walker looked through the kitchen window.

For half a second, he thought the truck had stopped in the wrong driveway.

Then the rear wheels settled into the grass beyond his fence, the hydraulic cylinder extended another foot, and fourteen cubic yards of gray-brown fill began sliding toward the narrow strip of land along the east side of his property.

Samuel set his coffee down without drinking it.

Chunks of broken concrete struck the ground first. Gravel followed, then packed soil, spreading outward in a heavy fan. A cloud of pale dust lifted over the fence.

Raymond Nelson stood beside the truck with one hand raised toward the driver.

Samuel had told him no three days earlier.

Not maybe.
