They Arrested Richard Beside His Wife’s Roses, but the HOA’s Own Records Exposed the Truth

Chapter 1: The Officers Stepped Across Virginia’s White Roses

“Drop the weapon!”

Richard Campbell looked down at the object in his right hand.

The brass hose nozzle shone in the late-afternoon sun. Water hissed from its narrow opening and struck the dark soil beneath Virginia’s white roses.

“Sir, drop it now!”

Two police officers stood beyond the driveway with their hands near their holsters. A third moved along the side of a patrol car, watching Richard as though he might suddenly charge.

Richard released the nozzle.

It landed on the brick border with a metallic crack, spun once, and rolled into the rose bed. Water continued spraying across the leaves.

“Hands where we can see them.”
