He Inherited Three Cabins, but the HOA Manager Had Already Sold Every Weekend

Chapter 1: The Cabin Guests Who Knew His Property Better

The woman at the cabin door punched four numbers into a black lockbox, removed a key, and smiled at Christopher as though he had been waiting to welcome her.

“Thanks for hosting,” she said.

Her husband was unloading two rolling suitcases from a gray SUV. A girl in a red knit cap stood beside the porch railing, holding a paper bag marked with the logo of a grocery store twenty miles down the mountain.

Christopher looked from the woman to the key in her hand.

“I’m sorry,” he said. “Who told you I was the host?”

The woman’s smile tightened.

“The listing did.”

She turned the key in the deadbolt.
